From an early age  I have had a fascination with all aspects of history, the exploits of those who have gone before us and how they have helped shape our present and future.

I remember  sitting in a class at Primary  School learning about the Great War, the Poets, Politics and Generals but little did I know or learn about  the effect, hardships and sacrifices suffered by not only those called to fight but all those left behind.  A spark had been ignigted.

The painting I did aged 10  is the only physical reminder I have left of that initial spark.

Over the years an interest in genealogy developed and increasing online access to records  helped unearthed at first a few family members   soon becoming  20,  30, 40  and continues to grow.

Many of these people  have been forgotten to time with family members no longer aware of their forbearers sacrifices and hardships .

Their  stories continue to surface  highlighting the impact service  can have across the generations.
